Thoughts on the religious changes

During the Second Great Awakening, Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian religions all came together to worship together as one. All kinds of preachers all delivered passionate sermons. They were all focused on encouraging the people to strive for their own salvation. It is good to see many different religions coming together for one cause rather than being different. This occurred in Cane Ridge, Kentucky over a one-week period in August 1801. For a full, week these religions acted as one and worshipped as one. They preached from inside buildings, evangelized outdoors under the open sky, and even used tree stumps as makeshift platforms. they were focused on reaching for salvation and not on their own personal beliefs. They did whatever they could to reach and audience to help them reach salvation. Events like the Cane Ridge Revival sparked significant changes in American religious affiliations. Many revivalists abandoned the formal style of worship observed in the Congregationalist and Episcopalian churches, and instead embraced more impassioned forms of worship that included the spontaneous jumping, shouting, and gesturing found in new and alternative denominations. 191 religions no longer focused on formal teachings. They focused on getting their message across any way they could, whether it was a wild service or calm service. It might've been crowded or small. Religion was changing and people were changing with it. Of course there were problems with the new religious practices, but the important thing was that people were re-awakened to their religious beliefs and headed towards salvation.
