Slaves
Slavery was a hard time; they where boarded on ships and chained down stairs with thousands of other slaves. During this time the slaves barley got food, water and ,sunlight. Slaves where headed to a new land that was unknown to them and do labor for people who where unknown to them. When the slaves got to this new land in 1619 they where to be sold. The slaves where nude and oiled down to be auction off. Slaves where treated like an animal. They had no natural rights. If slaves tried to revolt they where killed on the spot most of time. As another form of punishment they would be whipped or beaten severely. I was always taught that how we treated slaves was bad. That we were evil people for what we did. By this week I learned more inhuman things we did. I learned more about the southern economy. The slave world should have never happened. We sold them off like property. We tried to get better at different kind of punishments and bringing them over to America. On the voyage over to the new land about twenty-five percent died. When we would sell the slaves we would break up the family. We are all human and owning another human just because they are a different color is wrong. All lives should be treated the same. Luckily, slaves are apart of America past.
