Founding fathers

What I know about the founding fathers is that they were smart. They were good at organizing the colonists in order to revolt against the British. When it came to founding the country of America, the founding fathers were even better. They came together with ideas on how America should be ran. The most important part was deciding the rights of the people. They made it to where people have certain freedoms that can't be taken away. These freedoms have kept the country prosperous through the hardest of times. Property, arms, and the right to choose the leader of the country are all rights that we have that most other countries wouldn't. The founding fathers were smart and came up with ways to manage these freedoms. In the event that the people misuse the rights they will be punished in a way of justice that is unbiased and fair. The founding fathers also came up with ways that new laws could be passed through a congress. This congress is made up of two bodies that make an even match in ideals. This variety of ideals is what makes lawmaking fair. The founding fathers then came up with a fair way for the people to elect presidents. Voting for presidents is made fair through the difference of size and population of the state. This way of voting makes elections for president fair. The founding fathers came up with all of these freedoms and fair ways that America should be ran, but many things have changed in today's society.
After I read the passage, I realized that the founding fathers did not know how to setup up the country or system of government. They only knew to use other countries ideals as examples. The only thing that they would change would be the many freedoms we have today. It wasn't easy coming up with ways these freedoms would be maintained. It was all trial and error in the beginning of the United States. The founding fathers made mistakes that would later lead to large controversy. This controversy or doubt over things would work was a way to better their thinking. They would use this in order to express their concerns on problems that may come.  The passage also brings up that the British have yet to write a constitution, and they have governed longer than the United States. Even with this known they still decided to veer away from British ideals, and create the American freedoms of today. John Locke, an important founding father, always seemed to rely on logic and common sense. He explained how a language has movable labels along the lines of, a rabbit having the name of giraffe. In order to describe this he stated, "words would always be uncertain in there significations". With this imperfection of language it could cause confusion. In the end, it was known that the constitution would never be just a document, it would be forever interpreted differently in the way ideals change.
