The Articles of Confederation made the United States of America. This is what made us have a country to live in and call home. The Constitutional Congress was the group that adopted the Articles of Confederation, which was the original Constitution. The Articles of Confederation was created because the United States needed a functional national government after becoming independent from Great Britain. The Articles of Confederation were the first official set of rules for the United States. This set of rules said that power rests with the states, everything was voted as a state, there was no chief executive, and there was no judiciary only a Congress. The Anti-Federalists were the group of men that were against the new Constitution and did not want anything to replace the Articles of Confederation. This led to an argument bust soon the Constitution was made.
There were many needs for a Constitution. There needed to be a strong central government to make and enforce laws. There needed to be someone in charge of the country and control what was happening. The Constitution is what the United States is set up around. Without the Constitution, there would not be any rules for people to follow. This would help the people feel more safe and in order living in the United States. The Constitution was one of the main documents needed for the United States because it stated everything about the United States in it and all the rules and rights each citizen has to follow. Overall, the Constitution was the smartest way to go with helping the United States become a better place even though the Anti-Federalists were against it at the beginning. Everything worked out in the end.
