Articles of confederation
The articles of confederation had many pros and advantages for when the U.S. became a independent country. The articles of confederation served as an agreement among the states and was the first constitution of the United States. It gave congress the authority to deal with international affairs and brought about congressional departments. The articles of confederation also bonded the states more closely together and strengthened their friendships. The articles, even though there was an agreement between the states, allowed the states to remain sovereign, movement to other states was not restricted and neither was trading. This was beneficial because the people are to be considered free citizens with privileges like any other citizen of the state.
The constitution
The constitution provided a strong, prosperous nation at the same time as allowing for representation of diverse interest as well as innovation as well as innovation at state level. The constitution also gave the people basic human rights with the bill of rights which protected the citizen's civil liberties. It provided the separation of powers and checks and balances which didn't allow any branch of government to become crazy with power. Each branch of government had equal power. It is adaptable to social change through the process of amendment and the practice of judicial review. The constitution is also being used still today because of how well it was made. It keeps the government in balance, give basic rights to the people, and is a strong basis for the country
