My opinion on the founding fathers before I read this paper given to me is fairly watered down by the river of elementary and spiced by the imagination of many passed stories. When I hear the phrase out founding fathers I think of the mid point between pilgrims and full Americans. Like just getting done from a hard work in some kind of government building right next to the Boston harbor. I think of the Declaration of Independence as well as all the rights I have had given to me at birth. When I hear that phrase I think of how far the world has come thanks to these wonderful men who decided they weren't going to take the taxing they weren't going to take the no religious education freedom. They were going to stick it to the man and go live on their own. why? Because they want to and need and because they can these men conceived the rights and independence we have today. They honestly spoke their minds and put action to their thoughts. The founding fathers were most likely considered genius in their day. They took a colony owned taxed and profited upon by the English king and Parliament. These men said no we won't be taxed without being represented. No taxation with out representation. And the English gave them some what representation but not what they wanted completely. Up they realized that they had reason to be upset as England gave in to some requests so the founding fathers after years of trying to compromise declared independence and made America the wonderful country it is.
After reading the paper that was given to me by Dr. Harvey o retract many statements in the last paragraph. The founding fathers were very respectable men and had wonderful intentions for the colonies but from what I've read, these men didn't have much of an exact idea of what to do and what is best for this colony and soon to be country. The colonists wanted equal representation and equal power to Parliament but the king and Parliament said that's not going to happen? The colonies were almost strictly for profit and access across seas they weren't exactly considered as equal to parliament in the Kings mind? So England keeps taxing them and the founding fathers and colonist are very upset because England is taxing them for no reason but profit. The founding fathers and colonists are getting tired of all of this they want representation they want less taxes they want to be treated as equal and have equal say. The founding fathers not knowing exactly what to do other than to ask England to stop and change the way they tax and treat the colonies. No one in their right mind was thinking about independence unless behind closed doors. But finally the founding fathers got fed up with it and decided to become their own dependent country and they admitted they had no idea what they were doing. They were obviously pretty intelligent men and knew a little but were un aware of all the changes in society and how to word what they were saying but they still did pretty good and founded the country we have today.
