5 things the led to Civil war.
Slavery - for landowners in the south the more slaves you had the more wealth you had. Slaves were not cheap they were expensive and were used as property for these huge plantation owners.
Missouri Compromise - one thing that probably held the Civil War off for a few years,the Compromise told that for every free state there had to be a slave sate md vice versa.
Lincoln's Election - when Lincoln came into office the south hated this because he wanted to abolish slavery.
State Rights vs Federal Rights - the south wanted more state rights because they thought the central government can't regulate problems specific to them. They resented the federal government for this reason.
Sucede - the Civil War would have never been if not for the splitting of the country. The two sides of the country split over many reasons. Still, this drove both sides over.
